I am a very experienced professional Brazilian Portuguese translator in the Eng-lish-Brazilian Portuguese pair of languages and proof-reader. A father of two grown children, I live in NiterĂ³i ( https://www.google.com/search?q=niteroi ), Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Also, I am an amateur lexicographer, in the process of creating an English-Portuguese bilingual dictionary, holding +17 thousand en-tries and +130 thousand words for now.

In my professional career as a translator, I have mainly translated, into Brazilian Portuguese, 38 books to the day, works by famous English speaking writ-ers/authors, such as Loretta Napoleoni, Noam Chomsky, the Historians Robert Service, Donald L. Miller, Lamar Waldron & Thom Hartmann, Ni-colas Chalton & Meredith MacArdle, Max Arthur, Hampton Sides, Stephen Ambrose, Ian Mortimer, Gitta Sereny, A. James Gregor etc., and also by novel writers such as Nora Roberts, Rosamunde Pilcher, the best-seller au-thor Jeffrey Archer (a writer reportedly having sold more than 360 million copies of his works worldwide up to date), Osho and several others, an experi-ence, as you can see, covering many subject areas. But I also have a considera-ble amount of experience in translation projects involving localization of GUIs of software programs (Iceni's PDF Editor, Total Commander FM, Directory Opus, Image for Windows, Tracker Software PDF-Xchange Viewer, Essential PIM, sev-eral EFSoftware.com software tools, xrayz.co.uk Boomark Tool, PowerISO, Lope-soft.com File Menu Tools, Lsoft.net Backup Tools etc., together, at least as far as some of them are concerned, with their helps files, related websites etc.

I have been working as a freelance translator since the middle of the 90s. I had worked for publishing houses and trading companies before this (the German-Brazilian company MSGesellschaft and then the Japanese firm Toyomenka do Brasil, now called Tomen Corporation).
