I Komang Adi Aswantara was born in Bali, Indonesia. He spent his primary educations until senior high school in his hometown, Bali. He received B.Sc. degree in Telecommunication Engineering from School of Electrical and Informatics (STEI) Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Bandung, Indonesia in 2008 and currently pursuing his Master degree in Communication Network related area in Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in Daejeon, South Korea.

While at the Bandung Institute of Technology, he was recipient of Indosat Scholarship in 2007. He is also the recipient of KAIST Scholarship for foreigner starting from 2012. In term of his professional experiences, he was a RF (Radio Frequency) Engineer in Product Development Division of Toshiba Mobile Communication, Ltd., Tokyo Japan from 2008 to 2010 where he was responsible in designing WLAN and Bluetooth circuit for mobile phone. From 2010 to 2011, he was a System Engineer in Advanced Technology Development Division at Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications Ltd., Kawasaki, Japan where he collaborated with Qualcomm and KDDI Ltd in developing platform for mobile phone.

He also received various awards. He was the 1st and General Winner of National Research Scientific Competition in 2000 which held by Ministry of National Education of Indonesia. He was also a presenter and representative from Indonesia in the Search for SEAMEO Young Scientist (SSYS) Congress which held by RECSAM (Regional Educations for Science and Mathematics) at Penang, Malaysia in 2002. He is the recipient of Bronze Medal Science Olympiad in Mathematics in 2003. During his Bachelor degree, he was the 1st winner of Electrical Engineering Award in the Energy Category in 2007. He is also served as a steering committee in various events during his Bachelor Degree. Currently he is a graduate student and research assistant at Communication Network Laboratory, KAIST.
