Greetings, My name is Mark A. Barnes and I am a full-time Japn-Eng translation professional. I am currently looking for agencies to collaborate with on large and long-term projects. Therefore I have decided to tell you a bit about myself and I have attached my CV for your review. I specialize mostly in technical fields such as electronics, IT, and automotive translations. In addition, I am also fully capable of translating social sciences, especially Japanese-English translations for academic papers (arts and sciences). My most recent projects have been: -Legal contracts -Translation of two websites -MSDS translation -Automotive translation -Transcription and translation for a large US computer company -IT translation -Petroleum Engineering -Robotics -Religious texts -Pharmaceuticals -Large IT project for a top Japanese bank After a long study-abroad and tourism business experience in Kyoto, Japan I decided I needed a change and I started freelance translating. Additionally, to get more experience in the translation business and to be closer to more clients I recently relocated to New York City. I am always looking to conquer a new goal in the translation business. Although I am a new translator I am not a typical beginning translator. Here's why: In addition to my six-year research project on the history of civil-military relations in Japan I have a BA in political science from Oklahoma State University and most importantly regarding translation I have one year of study abroad experience in Osaka and three years of formal schooling at Kyoto University. All course work and master thesis writing was done in Japanese. I am also gaining additional insights into the translation industry by reading books on the translation business and making new connections in the translation industry. My home office computer equipment includes a laptop computer, two desktop computers, high-speed internet access, a scanner, and a copier. I use 2007 and 2009 Trados. With each translation project I undertake I guarantee high quality work delivered on or before the deadline and prompt response to emails, phone calls, and Skype calls. Please let me know if I can provide you with any additional information. Please let me know if you have any large and/or long-term projects coming up ASAP as I am bidding on other projects. Kindest Regards, Mark A.(Andy) Barnes Andoco Translation 20-61 20th St. Apt. 3C Astoria, NY 11105 TEL: 646-580-3197 |
