Translator/Interpreter is an exciting challenge for me and I have a strong motivation to apply. As indicated by my resume, I have considerable experience as a translator/interpreter with not-for-profit organizations and businesses in both the US and in my native Georgia and I am confident that my professionalism, management capabilities, and linguistics skills would make me a successful addition to your team. After graduating with honors from Batumi State University, in the Republic of Georgia, I worked as a translator/interpreter for international businesses and organizations in Georgia, the United States, and France, as well as for USAID, EU, EC and UN administered programs and international conferences. In addition to interpetering/translating experience through this work, I gained experience coordinating large-scale events, interacting with high-level executives and clients, managing calendars and travel schedules, and writing and editing reports and correspondence in three languages: English, Russian and Georgian. Functioning in multilingual and multicultural environments endowed me with diplomatic interpersonal and communication skills, and in addition, my fluency in English, Russian, and Georgian greatly contributed to my success in this type of setting. My knowledge of foreign policy issues stems from my work experience and participation in several scholarship programs, including the Soros Foundation, Polish-American Solidarity Foundation, Reuters and the Swedish International Development Agency programs, seminars, and conferences on a range of international topics. My unique set of skills and experiences, combined with my interest in international diplomacy and knowledge of foreign policy issues, make me an excellent match for the position of interpreter/translator.
