To Whom it May Concern: I am very interested in the position of the Mandarin translation position as posted on your website. With almost 15 years experience in the fields of translation and transcription I believe I would be a welcome addition to your organization in the area of English/Chinese translation and transcription. Over the years, I have had a depth of experience within Asia, having lived in Taiwan since 2001. I am originally from Canada and moved to Taiwan to experience Asian culture and improve my Mandarin language ability. Over the years in Taiwan, I have traveled extensively throughout Asia and am proud to call Taiwan my home. I have been able to become part of the local culture and well immersed in Chinese culture, food and linguistics. I believe that I am ideal for the translator position within your organization because of the background knowledge I have of not only Mandarin, but the cultural localization, strong network of contacts in Asia and being in Taiwan gives me the advantage of being able to know the real needs of the Asian market.
