I am now 73 years old and retired, but still do translations from German to English for the Austrian National Library (Vienna). For most of my working life I taught German, principally in Australia, but also in Poland, Britain, and Lithuania. I have lived in Germany for lengthy periods (1967 - 1972), 1992, and 1995, usually as a teacher of English, but also as a social workers helping released prisoners. In that capacity I spoke only German. I am also a writer of novels in Esperanto and English, and occasionally I have translated my own short stories into German. | |
