I have combined 20 years of work as a linguist within a few industries: Construction and Building Management, Immigration, as well as Oil and Gas. My last two jobs were with Fluor as a Contracts Administrative Assistant, and IHS as an Awards Analyst. As a Contracts Administrative Assistant, I maintained Contracts archives, translated documents and correspondence, was monitoring Contracts approvals, interpreted and liaised with clients while assisting Managers during Contracts negotiations. My first assignment at IHS Energy was with the Regulatory Compliance Services group as a Laws and Legislations Database Manager. I was responsible for populating the database, commissioned by the TNK-BP, Lukoil and the Rosneft oil companies. The role included searching for the full text of the Russian Federation public laws, industry regulations, equipment technical documentation and standards, as well as carrying out the revisions and amendments in relevant documents, together with delivering summary information on appropriate laws. On completion of this project, my group was granted the Circle of Excellence Award. It was followed by me being promoted to the Editor of Awards Analysis Database within IHS' PEPS group with a responsibility for the module with an ever-increasing database of worldwide exploration activities, creating a library of upstream awards: I was tracking and analysing worldwide upstream oil and gas exploration Licenses and development Contract awards, to identify trends. | |
